Monica Bellgran is joining as the new Director of Research at LKAB.

Monica Bellgran is a graduate engineer from Luleå University of Technology, graduating in 1990. She completed her doctorate in installation technology at Linköping University in 1998. She has previously worked at Haldex AB and is currently a professor of production development at Mälardalen University. She has previously been the Head of Production Technology at Volvo Construction Equipment in Eskilstuna.
"Monica Bellgran has more than 20 years' experience of research and development work, and has held senior positions in both the academic sector and in industry. Her experience will be a major boost for LKAB," says Lars-Eric Aaro.
Monica Bellgran will be a member of LKAB's Group management and will report to the CEO. Bellgran will be a director of a new unit, which will go by the name of Research & Development. The R&D department is consequently being taken out of the current Technology & Business Development unit to form a separate unit. LKAB currently conducts research and development in Kiruna, Malmberget and Luleå, both under its own control and in close co-operation with Luleå University of Technology.
Monica Bellgran was born in 1966 in Nordmaling, Västerbotten. She lives in Eskilstuna, is married and has two children. She is taking up her new position from 1 February.
