Over the coming months the Technology and Process Development unit will be re-organised. Responsibility for operative change management and projects related to day-to-day operations will be transferred to the respective divisions and units.
Technology and Process Development will thereby concentrate on strategic development work as well as SUM and HYBRIT. The organisation for exploration will also be adapted to meet the new situation.
Exploration, Strategy and Business Development will play a key part in the realisation of LKAB 5.0 and LKAB beyond 2030. Åsa Sundqvist will leave her position as Senior Vice President, Technology and Process Development (T) to take on a new role within Exploration, Strategy and Business Development and assume responsibility for the framework and development programmes leading up to LKAB 5.0.
While a new senior VP is being recruited, Markus Petäjäniemi will temporarily lead T. He will continue in his role as Senior Vice President, Sales and Logistics, but will be replaced during this period by an acting senior VP.
Trade union negotiations with respect to changes in the Northern Division, Logistics and the future structure of Technology and Process Development have already been completed, and negotiations within the Southern Division will be concluded on 17 December, following a risk assessment.
The changes will take effect as of 1 January 2019.
