LKAB is looking for trainees for the 2020 Trainee Programme

About the trainee programme

As the global steel industry's need for more climate-efficient, highly-refined iron ore products is growing, LKAB's need for dedicated, innovative and responsible employees is also growing. The company's trainee programme is part of our work to satisfy the skill requirements of the future. As a trainee with us, you get a unique opportunity to go on an exciting transformation journey, developing the next generation of LKAB, with our employees at the centre. 

The trainee programme starts in September 2020 and runs until May 2021 and is carried out with a placement in either Kiruna, Malmberget or Svappavaara. As a trainee with us, you're offered a fixed contract and intended placement within one of our operations. The programme starts with internships and training, providing you with an in-depth insight into the company's various divisions from mines to ports. You get your own mentor and during the course of the programme, you'll encounter different people, workplaces and a variety of tasks, and develop an understanding of theculture that exists within the company and how all the roles are interconnected. Visits to one of our overseas operations are also included. 

Your qualifications

Within the past two years, you will have obtained a university or college degree with a technical focus on mining engineering, industrial economics, town planning, logistics, roads and water, data science, quality, automation, mineral-, chemical-, energy-, combustion-, material-, mechanical-, maintenance- or environmental technology.

Application

The application period is from 13 March to 7 April 2020. 

During the selection process, we look at a combination of your experience, interests, personal characteristics and education/degree. As part of the process, we make use of tests and interviews, which will take place at LKAB in Kiruna in the final selection phase.
