About the position
LKAB is currently building a corporate function in strategy and business development, and an expansion plan is under development. The expansion plan focuses on organic growth as well as growth by acquisitions. The expansion potentials (mineral resources) that are currently identified are to be developed into mineral reserves according to the European reporting standard PERC (Pan-European Standard for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Reserves).
We are now looking for a senior mining engineer that can lead the work of developing near-mine mineral resources into mineral reserves in Kiruna, Malmberget and Svappavaara in the early project stages in accordance with the reporting standard. The work also includes supporting the development of work methodology within the company and to report projects as part of the annual reporting of mineral resources and reserves.
You must have at least ten years relevant experience of managing mine related expansion projects and have experience in the demands that work according to international reporting standards require. It is presumed that you are qualified in mining engineering and mineral processing. Knowledge and experience in iron ore mining and processing and/or large-scale underground mining is a merit.
You have strong integrity, and adhere to code of ethics, a well-developed ability to cooperate and to communicate with other people, and an interest in and experience from strategic project management. You are systematic, structured and self-propelled. You express yourself in written and spoken English and/or Swedish. The position as project manager belong to the corporate support unit of Exploration, Strategy and Business Development, and will report directly to the unit manager. You are based in Kiruna or Gällivare, close to the mines. Travel will be a natural part of the job.
