LKAB's trainee programme offers you a unique opportunity to launch your career within the company, with a solid insight into all the operations and processes. This provides you with greater understanding about how all the different parts of LKAB interact, your own network within the company and a softer transition from academic studies to working life.
The trainee programme is aimed at recent graduates from university and/or university college. Every year, around eight people are accepted onto the programme, which runs for twelve months. The selection is based on the types of skills that are required.
The programme starts with a work placement and training, during which you are given a greater insight into the various parts of the company, from mine to port. As a trainee, you will get to encounter different people, workplaces and work duties, as well as gain an understanding of the culture that exists in the company and how all the different roles link together.
During the second part of the trainee programme, preparatory training begins at the relevant future workplace. This also includes a work placement at one of LKAB's organisations abroad, so that you can gain an insight into what it is like working in an international environment. As a trainee, you will also have an opportunity to influence the shape of the programme.
The trainee programme is a brilliant start to your career at LKAB, providing a broad insight into LKAB's operation and processes, as well as a head-start in the work duties that will subsequently await you.
There is no date set for the next trainee programme.
