Get to know LKAB

LKAB’s trainee program offers a unique opportunity to begin a career with the company with a thorough insight into every operation. It provides participants with a better understanding of how everything at LKAB works together, lets them create their own network and offers a smooth transition from academic studies to working life.

The LKAB Trainee programme is aimed at new graduates who are interested in working for the company. We fill eight places every year in a programme that lasts twelve months. Selection is based on the type of qualifications that are in demand so that participants can continue in employment with the company after completing the trainee programme.

Programme structure

The programme opens with work experience and training. The participants get a broad view of the company’s different operations all the way from the mine to the harbour. This means they also get to meet different people in a range of jobs and gain an understanding of the company’s culture and how the different roles all fit together. They begin their training for their respective future places of work in the second half of the trainee programme. There is also work experience in one of LKAB’s foreign operations so that participants also get a feel for how it is to work in an international atmosphere.

The trainee programme offers a brilliant start to a career at LKAB and provides a head start in assignments to come. The programme begins in the autumn 2013 and applications has taken place via vacant ads during springtime 2013.
