If I have applied for a job with you before, or if I’ve worked for you, must I submit my qualifications again?

There’s no need to send in any qualifications until we ask for them. You can create a profile in the LKAB recruiting tool, which you can use every time you apply for a position with us. But you must always remain proactive and apply for positions yourself. It’s not enough just to have your profile saved on our system.

I’ve worked for you previously; must I apply again?

Yes, you must reapply. In this way we will know that you are interested in working with us again.

When will I find out if I will get a job or not?

When we employ summer reliefs it can take until the end of May before everyone who will be employed is contacted.

How do you prioritize applicants?

We look at education, abilities and experience. We prioritize accepted qualifications.

How will you get in touch with me?

We’ll get in touch by telephone if you’re in line for an interview. If we choose another applicant you will receive a letter thanking you for your interest.

Can I expect LKAB to help me with accommodation if I am employed?

LKAB has very few vacant flats so you cannot expect help with housing.

How will I know that my application has arrived?

You’ll get a confirmation via email to the address you provided with your application. Make sure you submitted the correct email address.

Can I send in my application via conventional mail instead of using your website?

No; the only way to apply is via our recruiting tool on our website at lkab.com.

Can I receive ongoing information on how recruiting is proceeding?

Unfortunately not; we cannot provide such an undertaking.

Will I have a better chance of a summer job if I make contact with you personally by phone or through a personal visit?

No; once our summer recruitment process starts our HR personnel are busy selecting and interviewing applicants so it can be extremely difficult to reach us by phone and unfortunately there is no opportunity for unsolicited personal visits. It’s therefore very important that you present yourself and your qualifications well in your application.

Must I create a user for each of the positions I want to apply for?

No; you can use the same user for several positions. However, you must apply separately for each position.

What is a trainee?

A new employee, usually someone newly graduated from university or college who is under internal company training. You can read more about the LKAB trainee programme here.

Who can apply to the trainee programme?

Anyone who graduated from university/college with a degree in technical or financial subjects within the past two years.

How and when can I apply to the LKAB trainee programme?

You apply to our trainee programme on our website at www.lkab.com by registering your interest in the programme. Note that you can only apply to the trainee programme when there is an advertisement listed under the situations vacant tab on the website. There is one programme per year.
