Develop Tomorrow’s Iron Ore Processes

LKAB offers many different challenges for those wishing to complete their thesis within the company. LKAB focuses heavily of R&D and there are many different fields and professions within our business.

Fields that are of special interest to LKAB are rock mechanics, mining, mineral technology, process metallurgy, agglomeration, iron making, maintenance, logistics, control and regulation technology and metrology. Theses in such fields as organization, finance, HR and purchasing are also possible. There are pre-designed assignments in our thesis catalogue, but most theses arise out of dialogues and ideas from students. Every year between 20 and 40 theses are completed that contribute to our progress and enhance student competence.

Remuneration for a thesis is paid in relation to the points it is awarded: 10–12 points SEK 20,000; 20 points SEK 35,000 The remuneration is paid when the orderer approves the work. Estimated time is around three months, of which around 40 days are estimated to be located at an LKAB operation. If the thesis is larger in scope, a different remuneration may be paid.
